And so it begins

Has started. I trained for the last time at the gym. Just as I was starting to get back into a routine. I called into my friends pub for a beer. The reality of being alone kicked in. This lockdown is going to be tougher for many than the last time around. The weather is changing, the clocks have changed. Darkness and the winter are depressing for many without a global pandemic also. Christmas is a financial burden.

Many people have lost their jobs, small businesses have closed and people have been put back on furlough. It’s going to put a massive strain on many, many people. Mental health will rise, relationships will breakdown, families will be torn apart. People in hospital and nursing homes are alone without visitors. Life has changed forever.

The message after the untimely death of Caroline Flack was “be kind”. On visiting the supermarket earlier, people are not “being kind”. Panic buying has started, many people will go without due to the greed of the minority. Its pathetic.

13 reasons why

I’m currently watching the 3rd season of 13 reasons why. Its a fascinating series following the lives of collge students. It deals with some tough topics. Rape, murder, suicide, bullying and abuse. It portrays the effects on peoples lives extremely well. The main message I have picked up from watching so far is, you never truly know whats going on in anyone else’s life. You only ever see what people want you to see. This is especially true right now. Everyone will be struggling to a certain degree.

This pandemic will hopefully become controlled with the current restrictions. Life will return to a state the will be deemed as “normal” in time. In the meantime, please look out for each other, help each other. Don’t gossip be understanding and most of all be kind.
