out of focus lights on rainy weather

Rather damp but smiling

Today

The love of my life went in for her service and to have some warranty work done. I knew in advance that I would be leant a Yamaha tracer 700 as a courtesy bike. Before I threw my leg over it, I was feeling underwhelmed. I was however, wrong. I’ve had it in my head for years that I want a sports bike, the tracer is quite the opposite.

2020 Yamaha tracer 700

12 Months

Since getting back into bikes last year, I have had the privilege to ride six different ones. All of them have been bought from or supplied by http://www.mototechniks.com.

My rides

Yamaha MT125
Yamaha MT07
Yamaha R1
Yamaha MT09
Yamaha MT10
Yamaha tracer 700

Today

I absolutely loved the tracer. It was easy to ride, comfortable and looked good. The dash was clear and easy to see without moving my head. The controls were pretty much the same as on my bike, so no problem there. I loved the screen not only did it help to protect from the wind, but also kept me relatively dry it the rain.

My view

Negatives

I can only think of one really. The exhaust was far to quiet. I’m used to the hooligan akrapovic pipe on my bike!!

So what next?

As much as I loved the tracer, I don’t think that will be my next purchase. I’m looking towards an MT09. To be perfectly honest, I loved getting back on my baby. All I know is I am happy when riding a bike, any bike. It massively improves my mood and is essential to my mental wellbeing.
