I forgot my fitness
Today I woke up feeling low (as usual). I laid in bed far to long. I needed to do something different. Laying around isn’t helping my mind or my body at all.

The gym
Two years ago I basically lived in the gym. If I wasn’t there weight training I would be out improving my cardiovascular fitness on my road bike (now sold to fund my motorbike leathers).

Let go
Since then I have let myself go. When the gyms closed at the start of lockdown, I couldn’t weight train and only went for walks for cardio. I have been doing basic bodyweight and resistance training, but not very often.

Junk food
I went through a stage recently of living off of pizza and junk food. My skin got bad and I had zero energy. Obviously the energy is partly down to my mental health.

Diet
This week I have got my diet back on track. I’m drinking at least two litres of water and I only have one coffee (replaced with green tea). I’m trying my best to eat as clean as I can.

Baby steps
Back to this morning. I knew I had to do something different to lift my mood. So, I got up, dressed and went out on old hybrid bike.

26 degrees
Yup, it was showing 26 degrees centigrade on my phone when I left. Headphones on, gym playlist on….let’s go. I was aiming to cycle 10km, but ended up doing nearly 12km. Not great, but its a start.

Back home
I’m now back home and I’m a big sweaty mess. I feel good, no actually, I feel amazing. It’s so nice to actually write a positive blog for once. Now time for some raw eggs …..
